Office Administrator

Location: Chichester

Rate / Salary: £16k - £19k - Depending on Experience
Hours: 8:30 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday 

Office Administrator: An enthusiastic Administrator is required to provide administrative support to the sales, production and finance departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service via verbal, written and face-to-face communication and to take full ownership of situations to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of boat canvas covers, sails, canopies and upholstery, established since 1989, servicing trade and end user marine customers along the South coast.

Marine industry specific training will be provided to ensure the successful candidate gains a full appreciation of the broader organisation, including regular walks around the marina to fully understand how each department functions and learn about the products they manufacture. The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to take on further responsibility as they gain experience within the role, earning regular remuneration increases in the process.


  • Auditing of sales orders
  • Sending order confirmation to customers
  • Creation of works orders for the production departments
  • Raising and sending invoices to customers
  • Reminding customers about any outstanding payments by phone and email
  • Account Management of key customers
  • Answering the phone, quickly identifying the customers’ requirements
  • Meet and greet customers upon arrival in reception

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative role.
  • Confident, customer-focused telephone manner
  • Ability to work alone or part of a team
  • Confident in suggesting ideas for improving processes
  • Organised with very high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Needs to be accurate, conscientious and ask for help when needed
  • Reliable and committed
  • Knowledge of the marine industry (desirable)
